The Fox Guarding the Hen House

Those assigned to monitor the "waste" of our president's stimulus bill have such a daunting task that they need special accommodations in order to carry out this assignment.  Each of them has an office with--I'm sure--a large conference room.  Hmmm. . . not good enough?  They are holding this conference at the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix, Arizona.  The rooms rent for approximately $300-$500/day (just like your last business trip, right?).  At this summit they will discuss various techniques to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse, as well as larger issues of transparency and public awareness.  Portions of the meeting will be open to the public, while other parts will be closed.  Be sure to click on the first link and take a photo tour of this antiquated hotel.  I'm guessing that the taxpayer (you) is also paying air fare/private jets to bring these hard-working blokes into town.  How successful do YOU think they'll be?  (If these links don't work just google "stimulus waste convention" and you'll find everything you need.  Happy hunting.)
